Carmelized Ham & Swiss Buns
Ingredients
- 1 package (18 ounces) Hawaiian sweet rolls
- ½ C horseradish sauce
- ¾ lb sliced deli ham
- 6 slices Swiss cheese, halved
- ½ C butter, cubed
- 2 tbs finely chopped onion
- 2 tbs brown sugar
- 1 tbs spicy brown mustard
- 2 tsp poppy seeds
- 1½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
Directions
- Assemble Rolls: Spread horseradish sauce on the cut sides of the roll bottoms. Layer with ham and cheese; replace tops.
- Arrange: Place sandwiches in a single layer in a greased 13x9" baking dish.
- Make Topping: In a small skillet, melt butter over medium-high. Add onion and cook 1-2 minutes until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Chill: Pour butter mixture over the rolls. Cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
- Bake: Bake covered at 350°F for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 5-10 minutes more, until golden brown.
